Company

Embden, Drishaus & Epping Consulting GmbH (EDE Consulting) emerged in 1991 from a traditional Hamburg coffee trading house of the same name that was founded in 1808. Since then EDE Consulting has implemented over 50 projects worldwide. EDE Consulting is a subsidiary company of the Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung (HRNS), a foundation with non-profit status established by Neumann Gruppe GmbH in 2005.

EDE Consulting strives to contribute to sustainable development of farming communities in developing countries. Smallholder farmers are enabled to improve their business performance and their market position. Farmer organization, technical interventions, marketing activities and capacity building are important tools to achieve this.

In Vietnam, EDE Consulting runs several projects for the promotion of sustainable coffee cultivation in the Central Highlands and Northern Vietnam.

Role in the project

EDE Consulting cooperates with the University of Bochum and local authorities in Lam Dong in order to promote sustainable coffee cultivation at the project site of Hoa Bac.

EDE Consulting’s activities in Hoa Bac are co-financed by the International Coffee Partners (ICP), an association for the support of smallholder coffee farmers, founded by the coffee roasting companies of Lavazza, Löfbergs Lila, Paulig and Tchibo and the trading company Neumann Gruppe GmbH.
